Bridging the Gap: Our Mission
Cultural Bridges aims to equip Gen Z and youth workers with the tools they need to foster cultural intelligence (CQ) and promote cultural tolerance. We envision a future where online communities are vibrant spaces for cultural understanding, not division.
Our Approach:
- CQ Training: We’ll train 42 youth workers through national programs and an additional 12 through a virtual activity. This training will focus on building cultural knowledge, sensitivity, and communication skills.
- Digital Advocacy Toolkit: A toolkit packed with resources will equip 120 young people across partner countries to advocate for cultural tolerance online.
- Social Media Takeovers: National “glocal” campaigns led by young people will promote cultural intelligence in diverse online communities.
Our project targets:
- Youth workers and educators supporting Gen Z.
- Gen Z youth facing challenges like limited access to education, geographical barriers, and cultural or socio-economic obstacles.
- Youth work educators, youth networks, statutory agencies, and cultural NGOs.
Building the Foundation:
In February and March 2024, Cultural Bridges partners held online meetings to:
- Launch the project and introduce partner organizations.
- Review project details and plan initial activities.
- Develop collaborative tools for ongoing communication.
- Finalize learning outcomes and templates for youth worker and youth modules.
These modules, focusing on cultural knowledge, sensitivity, and communication, will be available in Autumn 2024.
